Zach's Birthday

It was my brother Zach's birthday and he wanted to have a Lazer Tag Party. So we did. He invited his friends and they even had these masks and what not with them. They really took it seriously. After Lazer Tagging, we ate at Shakey's for some pizza, pasta, and chicken. Yum-o.

How To: Red Velvet Cupcakes

I’ve always wanted to bake Red Velvet Cupcakes! Why? Because one, they’re red. I mean, how cool is that? Two, their prestigious rep is unfailing. I haven’t come across a bad review about them. And three, they’re red! That should be reason enough to bake these little suckers. My friend Dannah hopped over to my house and helped with baking. (And boy, do I LOVE baking with my friends!)

Nuttella Fudge Brownies (Recipe & How To)

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but Nutella has been quite famous among us young people. It has become a thing. A fad. You buy a jar, and you’re cool. It’s just how things are. And you can never go wrong with Nutella. The way I see it, the universe has come at peace with chocolate and hazelnuts, and produced Nutella. Anything with Nutella is simply better. You can eat it straight out of the jar, delicately spread on a piece of bread, or brilliantly incorporated into a brownie!
The recipe I’m about to share with you is one of the easiest recipes I’ve done. With just 5 ingredients all in all, how could you resist? I was absolutely shocked when I saw this recipe on the Internet. I mean, aside from the fact that it’s a brownie graced with the glory of Nutella, its unbelievably quick and easy to make!
We had a photoshoot at our house for my friend Miles’ project and I had the opportunity to bake these delicious fudgy brownies for them. Her sister, whom coincidentally is Trish Magcase (my partner in crime on our baking blog), helped me bake these little bad boys while they were busy working in the other room. We had so much fun baking these, and we practically had to stop ourselves from sticking our fingers into the batter because the smell was just mouthwatering!
They loved the brownies especially after a tiring photoshoot, it was just the perfect thing to munch on. You can literally taste the hazelnut, and they had just the right amount of chocolatey-ness, and fudgey-ness you could ask for in a brownie. Plus those chocolate swirl chips give it just the right kick of sweetness, which you can also substitute with real hazelnuts for a variation in texture. So, I hope you really enjoy baking these wonderful brownies as much as we did. I assure you, Nutella will definitely make your day. Bakenjoy!

Colourful Cupcakes (how to)

Today I baked colourful cupcakes and I'm going to show you how I did it! I had a little help from TheDaintySquid's blog post about colourful cupcakes. Now, I don't know what happened but this batch of cupcakes turned out really weird tasting. It tasted like this Filipino pastry we have here, its called Puto and its a sort of Filipino Cupcake. It would've been great, if I was making Puto, but I wasn't! I have GOT to work on my cake skills. Its weird cause the funfetti cupcakes turned out great! Well, I did double this batch.. Maybe that was the problem? I don't know.

Anyway, for the recipe just get your ordinary box of cake mix and use those instead. After mixing the batter up, separate them in 4 bowls or more if you're using more colours. I'm using Red, Blue, Green, and Violet. Just add 4-5 drops depending on how dark you want the colour to be.

After you've mixed the food colouring into the batter, line your cupcake tin with paper liner and slowly layer in each of the colours into the paper liner like so:

Bake for 15-20 mins at 350F depending on how much batter you put in. Since I put a lot in, it was 20 mins for me. But just keep checking with a tester to be sure. If it comes out clean, then its ready to be taken out.

And there you go! :)

Aren't they pretty? :)

Doggie Photos cause that spam wasn't enough. Ha!
